Style versus substance may be the major discussion that comes out of the great debate of October 3, 2012. This was a debate of the etch-a-sketch. It was a debate of a change of style, a pivot to the middle, the triumph of aggressiveness over calm demeanor. It was a debate that was an absolute battle of style versus substance. It was a debate where Mitt Romney may have won with his facts, his interpretations, his truths, all of which were contradicted by his own statements throughout the campaign. He might have gone unchallenged, but in this era of modern media, untruths come back to haunt you. It will be interesting to see if debates count.
Right now it appears that Mitt Romney was the winner on style points. I wonder, however, when substantive review is complete, the common knowledge calls the debate for President Obama. What do you think?
